Season Four, episode five’s opening gave us a car-chase in Hong Kong. It featured Grace and Adam fleeing from bad guys in a Japanese saloon.
But while, as was clear from the windscreen wipers, the second-unit work in Honkers correctly featured a(n) RHD vehicle (both the Hong Kongians [Kongites?] and Japanese drive on the CORRECT side of the road) – the American studio work featured a(n) LHD model.
Hardly worth writing a piece about, you might think. But it occurred that since Grace was sitting in the left seat, with Adam in the right, the scene was UNINTENTIONALLY SYMBOLIC – given that S.E. Asia is a patriarchal society, while America’s is matriarchal.
