All of the above are just reworkings of movies we have seen BEFORE.
These are CHEAP reworkings – using young, CHEAP actors.
(6) Inane Actioners.
(7) FX movies.
I have no problem with special effects, when they help move the STORY along – but when they REPLACE it…
Books are okay. Half the good movies MADE originate thus – and feature PLOTS and CHARACTERS. But when movies are spun off from theme park rides and video-games – gimme a break.
(9) Movies written and directed by the same person. They are generally unintelligible (although Nancy Meyers proves the rule – despite her CV including one remake).
(10) Anything made in 3D.
Sadly, these days most Hollywood movies fit into at least ONE of these categories – and many, several.
